Muddy Grin

Be aware of the salamander

an orange newt

resting in path

or maybe squirming fast

when approached

'dont let me frighten you sweet

with my gargantuan feet

and gawking eyes

larger than flies

and too soon to tell if full of lies

i know your venture runs deep

with mounds to climb

and crawl, oh so steep

with trenches to trudge through

until reaching the destined space

Water bound

Form will change

once left the ground

soon long and sleek with flatened tail to swim far away 

from sites such as I

Color calm grey green with mellow spots

to camouflage

skin no longer hot rust for seeing in a flash 

meant to cast a dangerous tune

Ah such similarities

We too venture for more freeing skins

to transform into a greater flo

of life

How nature drops its hints

with a muddy grin
